It's during the grey skies of October and the winter months that a June bride plans her perfect wedding. Despite recession woes, people are still tying the knot in grand style, and two swanky events this month give wedding vendors a chance to show off for eager brides.

Urban Unveiled

Benaroya Hall plays host to the fourth Urban Unveiled on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. This event, run by photographer Sharlane Chase and event planners Travis McBurney and Jesse Brix of True Colors Events, pulls together a stunning cadre of vendors, products and displays -- from food by Tom Douglas to wines from Novelty Hill to a showstopping fashion show by bridal gown designer Luly Yang.

"We hand-pick our vendors based on their artistry," Chase explains. "Not just because they're wedding vendors."

This year's Urban Unveiled theme is Miami's South Beach, so expect a sizzling, sultry and sophisticated night. Tickets are $35. For more information, including how to purchase tickets, visit the event's Web site, which is a fantastic year-round wedding resource on its own.

Get Hitched, Give Hope

The second annual Get Hitched, Give Hope is happening Thursday, Oct. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the posh Dome Room of the Arctic Club Hotel. This event allows brides to give back while planning their weddings by participating in a silent and live auction with proceeds benefiting the breast cancer charity Making Memories Foundation.

The event is the a labor of love by a group of wedding professionals, helmed by designer Michelle Loretta of mmm...paper, and including photographers Eliza Truitt, Barbie Hull and Laurel McConnell; and event planners Wendi Hroncich, Holly-Kate Foss and Shannon Lassen.

The organizers have picked a roster of top local wedding vendors, who have all donated one item to the auctions and raffle in order to participate. Items include diamond wedding bands, spa services, custom wedding invites, wedding photography and much more. Last year the event raised over $30,000 for families living with breast cancer, and organizers hope to raise at least $50,000 this year.

Tickets start at $25 and are available for purchase here.

Attn Editor: The PICTURES for these fashion articles ARE always WAY TOO SMALL.

Both of these events are simply amazing and very distinctive, they make great date nights for engaged couples and their families.

I wanna go to both but I don't have any girlfriends to go with!!!!!! :(
