Need stimulation? Shop and dine in Ballard on Tuesdays this summer

By Alison Brownrigg

On Tuesday, June 30, more than 70 Ballard businesses will kick off the Tuesdays in Ballard campaign [1], a summerlong stimulus plan with events and activities for all ages.

Yellow smiley-face posters designate participating merchants, which include Laura Bee Designs [1] and Kick It Boots and Stompwear [1]. In addition, Habitude [1] will offer outdoor mini chair massages; kids' shoe and clothing shop Mon Petit Shoe [1] will host a mini-carnival; Sonic Boom Records [1] will host the Born Anchors at 7 p.m. for a free all-ages show; and Zayda Buddy’s Pizza & Bar [1] will give away free tater tots with drink purchase.

It’s heartening to see neighborhoods come together to stimulate local spending and support their merchants. Is your neighborhood doing something similar this summer? If so, tell us about it in the comment section below.
