PULLMAN — Arizona State shot nearly 55 percent from the field in the second half, pulling away from Washington State for a 63-46 Pac-12 women's basketball victory Thursday night at Beasley Coliseum.
The Sun Devils (14-5, 5-3 Pac-12) led only 23-20 at halftime, but knocked down 17 of 31 field-goal attempts the rest of the way.
Toss out Arizona State's 3-for-15 shooting from three-point range, and the Sun Devils were 24 of 45 on two-point attempts for the game.
The Cougars (9-11, 3-5), meanwhile, shot only 28.6 percent (16 of 54) against the conference's top defensive team. They were also outrebounded by the Sun Devils, 43-32.
Despite their poor shooting, the Cougars trailed only 29-26 with 15:20 remaining. Arizona State then went on a 17-3 run to pull away for good. The run included a 30-foot three-pointer by Kimberly Brandon as the shot clock expired.
Brandon led Arizona State with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds. Jazmine Perkins and Rosetta Adzasu each scored 10 for WSU.
Perkins also grabbed seven rebounds to move into eighth place on WSU's career list.

At Colorado 69, USC 67
Chucky Jeffery buried a pair of free throws with 1.2 seconds left to give the Buffs a victory. Cassie Harberts had put the Trojans (10-8, 5-3) up by two with a jumper with 45 seconds left. Colorado (15-4, 4-4) tied it with 29 seconds to go on a turnaround jumper by freshman Jen Reese.
Brittany Wilson scored 21 points and Jeffery 19 for Colorado.
USC, which came in as the worst shooting team in the Pac-12, shot a blistering 55.6 percent in the first half. Christina Marinacci scored 17 and Briana Gilbreath 15 for USC.
UCLA 65, at Utah 60
Mariah Williams scored a career-high 21 points for the Bruins, who trailed 52-43 with seven minutes left. Williams made 3 of 4 three-point attempts.
Markel Walker (14 points, 10 rebounds) notched her fourth double-double of the season, Rebekah Gardner added 15 points and Thea Lemberger had 13 points and six assists for UCLA (9-10, 4-4), which dressed only seven players.
Taryn Wicijowski scored 14 and Rachel Messer 13 for Utah (2-6, 9-10).
